BILLS MIGHT FLY
Bill Sollis had a fascinating incite into the wacky world of rallying last month, when he partnered James Hoseason in the pink thing on the Jersey Rally. Much to his obvious relief, Bill was doing the driving, while James occupied the navigator's chair on this gruelling closedroad event.
Mr. Sollis reports that it was all a huge learning curve, but that after some exhilarating night flying around incredibly tight wall-lined roads, he had just about got to grips with the discipline. Unfortunately, the car suffered a terminal clutch problem
after 6 of the 18 stages, forcing an early retirement.
'An education in many ways' was, intriguingly, how Bill described it.

BOMB-PROOF DIFF
Keith Dodd is in America at the moment, getting some first-hand feed-back from the racers in the U.S.A. Apparently, at one of these meetings, a Sprite decided to dump all its oil and see what it was like to run on fresh air for a while. As you can imagine, just about everything in the engine and gearbox blew up, and scattered teeth and debris everywhere. When everthing was stripped down afterwards, the Tran-X LSD had, unbelievably, emerged from the wreckage totally intact, and still working fine!

Importation rules regarding vehicles are very specific: Only those over 25 years in age may be brought in to the USA without compilance to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS).
