CZH3521 DIE CAST PLINTH FITTING INSTRUCTIONS

1) Drill two 6.5mm holes in the door skin at 55mm centres (N.B. Ensure that the screws will not foul the window mechanism or glass)

2) Locate the plastic grommet bosses fully into the drilled holes ensuring that the grommet is flush with the door skin.

3) Locate the die-cast plinth on the gromrnet and secure using the two coarse threaded self-tapping screws provided.

4) Locate the plastic fixing plate on the plinth and secure using the two fine threaded self-tapping screw's provided.

Crankshafts identification can be confusing as many were converted from the main forgings by British Leyland to produce replacements or alternatives from about 1969 on.

This is evident when a crankshaft has the main forging number machined off and a new number stamped or etched over the original numbers. Part numbers were sometimes allocated using the Stamping number, such as 12G1683 on a 12G1505 forging but then superseded by part number 8G2740. Read more

REMOTE CHANGE

Remove original gearstick. Fit Quickstick with original plastic collar, spring and spring retainer, grease well and refit with new spacer. Place flange downwards using longer 5/16” UNC capscrews. Read more

New Brake Discs

Thoroughly clean the new discs with a solvent degreaser such as brake cleaner or cellulose thinners to prevent pad contamination, then follow the following procedure to bed the new brakes in.
