We source the original spare parts and when that production has ended we endeavour to find a high quality alternative, or if
viable or possible re-manufacture the part to the same high original specification.

Buyers of spare parts for the Mini will look online or in magazines for sourcing the best price available to keep the car on the
road safely and cost effectively. But these comparisons can be misleading. Buyers will be unaware they are ordering spare parts that are neither
the quality nor the specification they presume the parts to be, despite, when ordering, they use the same part number.

At Mini Spares Ltd we use the original genuine part numbers for the spare parts that originate from the Rover/Unipart
group original bona fide suppliers (unless the part has been obsolete for many years and remanufactured).


Where a part is no longer available from the original manufacturer and we reproduce the part to the original specification or
better, these parts will bear the original part number. If a cheaper or alternative part is available and of high enough quality
it will be identified by their part number beginning or ending in MS. In short, Mini Spares Ltd part numbers will either be clearly
marked with the part number or description. e.g.- GSJ166 as the original genuine or GSJ166MS as the alternative, re manufactured part.
All part descriptions clearly show manufacturer / origin / and true description of the part stocked.

However, non-genuine, aftermarket parts that don’t have this part number differentiation are available on various websites at the same price
as the original Genuine item. It is not possible to tell whether they are the original or just a cheaper copycat version of the product even though
they are priced the same.

This contravenes the trading standards; buyers are misled into believing they are buying the original products. It is for this reason, that when
comparing magazine or online prices, it is important to be able to differentiate between the original genuine spare part and the
copycat item, not usually manufactured to the Rover marque specifications. Mini spares Ltd can provide a cheaper alternative clearly indicated by
description and the MS prefix or suffix, that is durable, robust and cheaper than the original genuine part. They are sometimes even better than the original.
