Brands Hatch Report  Weekend of 24th and 25th August 2013

Qualifying.

With Torrential rain forecasted the decision was made to err on the side of caution in qualifying with 45 cars in bad conditions.
As predicted, with the mini and its ultra stiff set up and its limited slip diff breaking at 200ft/LBs, it would've been an understatement to say the car would be a handful. However, with perseverance and tenacity the mini ended its qualifying with an overall position of 21 out of 45 cars.

Race 1.

The decision to hang back on the formation lap was truly justified as on the 1st lap of the 2nd corner a fellow class competitor in a BMW Mini headed into the Armco, by no fault of his own, bringing out the yellow flags (No Overtaking).
A race long duel ensued with a high powered Ford Escort and a Ford Sierra Cosworth,  having managed to pass both Cars by the Chequered flag. 
A good result considering our ultra stiff mini is a handful in the rain.

Race  2.

With drying conditions it was decided to go with a full dry set up which proved to be a wise move. With the track being a little damp, progress through the field was imminent, the Mini made up 9 places and finised a superb  9th overall from 45 cars.
