Oulton Park in Cheshire was the venue that saw the drivers of the British Super Mighty Minis championship do battle for round 10.

Comis’s newly liveried car looked fantastic in the gleaming early morning August sunshine. On track for qualifying and it was business as usual. The times for the first laps fell steadily and things were looking good for the Birmingham hopeful. After 4 laps he was back in the paddock but unfortunately not because he bagged pole.

“There was a problem with the steering in that there was precious little of it. It should be ok, but I was looking for a good grid position and I didn’t think it was safe to continue” Again Comis was faced with an up hill battle to the front as he lined up 8th on the grid.

With the start procedure underway the now usual rapid reactions of Comis saw him catapult 2 places at the start. Pushing hard in to the 1st corner, Comis kept his foot down as he drifted gracefully wide on the exit on to the grass. As the race unfolded the Mini Spares car made steady progress and was soon looking good for a podium. As the cars drifted though the fast flowing corners and darted like squirrels though the chicanes, the end result could have been anyone’s.

After another epic display the Chequered flag was first shown to Gary Patterson but only seven seconds behind was Comis in a valiant 5th place. “That was just what I needed” beamed The Mini Spares Driver. “I got caught behind some slower cars at about mid distance which didn’t help, but that was one of my better drives” Round 11 of the Championship move to Mallory Park in Leicestershire on the 4th September.

The Mini Spares driver will be looking to improve his form yet further at a track that has seem some promising performances from him in the past For More information on the No 41 Super Mighty Mini in association with Mini Spares visit www.bcr-motorsport.com
