Our Mini Spares/Millers Oil Team were well equipped to embark on the gruelling 2,000 miles event across France and the French Alps. Our start point was at Reims.

Monte Carlo Rally 2015 - Overview.

Our Mini Spares/Millers Oil Team were well equipped to embark on the gruelling 2,000 miles event across France and the French Alps. Our start point was at Reims.
The Mini PRX had to complete an arduous shake down called the ‘’Concentration Run, “ this is an 800 Mile drive with virtually NO stopping other than to refuel, with the addition of a special stage ZR1 at the end.
The Mini on the Concentration run encountered blizzard type conditions and a nigley intermitten misfire which was not apparent during the many miles of testing prior to the event.
The results of ZR1 began to filter down to the team, an amazing 17th overall out of 310 starters.
ZR2 went ok, a result of 44th overall. Things were looking good.
However things were to change dramatically, this misfire raised its head to the extent it shut the engine down in the middle of a snow cap stage.
Huge penalty points were incurred which were to dampen the overall standings.
The fault was tracked down to 1 of the only parts NOT supplied by Mini Spares, the culprit was an aftermarket coil.

An original Mini Spares Gold Coil was fitted from last years rally and the engine was never to miss a beat again.
Stage after stage our Mini ran like a watch, it could only get better from now on. The last two stages were held on the infamous Ice Covered Torini Mountain, (we always do well there). Over 50 places were gained in the early hours of the morning.
A super event for the team and the chance to make many new friends of Mini Enthusiasts throughout France.
A big thank you to Mini Spares and Millers Oils, without their support the Monte would not happen for us.
Thankyou again.

Bill Richards.
