These calipers are intended for use on 10”wheels with 7.5”diameter solid brake discs.
The kit contains:-
CHECK that the brake disc is central in the caliper slot when bolted on. Any realignment can be done using 3/8” ID washers between the caliper and the hub. CHECK when fitting the calipers that the wheel studs are sitting flush in the flange or disc, as they should be in standard form.
NEVER MACHINE OR MODIFY CALIPERS If they appear not to fit, because it will be another problem in relation to compatability of Other parts used.(i.e wrong hubs, drive flange or disc) The maximum disc size under 10” wheels is 7.5” outside diameter. Therefore any wider disc Vented or non-vented can only be used if turned down to this size from 8.4”.
The cooling qualities of a vented disc are greatly diminished when machined down to 7.5” from 8.4” If using a vented disc the drive flange MUST BE CHANGED to the relevant type (NAM6450F) and disregard the 4 bolts and spacers, but you will require a special spacer kit C-AJJ4022 to fit between the two caliper halves.
Every effort has been made to ensure that in the 10” configuration the caliper will fit under most wheels. Certain cast wheels with thick walls or wide side trough, i.e. Mambas and steel wheels may require the use of wheel spacers to give clearance. Owing to the design of the Mini hub/disc, the inside brake pad on both calipers will need machining to clear. The two outer pads fit OK (only two pads need to be modified) The minimum requirements are detailed below.
