SPHERICAL ENDED ADJUSTABLE BOTTOM ARMS

These are to replace the standard bottom arms to facilitate easy adjustment of camber angles.

To fit, pace car safely on axle stands, remove front wheels to ease access, remove tie bar bolt where it joins the bottom arm, break bottom hub ball joint on outer end of arm, then remove the inner arm pivot pin. Adjust the spherical rod end by screwing in or out to set it to a similar length from the centre of the inner pivot point to the centre of the ball joint hole of the standard arm.

Fit the adjustable arms to the car by inserting pivot pin through the spacer provided, with the smaller diameter against the rod end, through a second spacer (fitted as previously) and then through the subframe and fit retaining nut.

Make sure you fir the correct arm to each side. This is determined by the ball joint pin hole which is tapered. The large hole size is fitted uppermost when viewed directly from above and the tie bar bolt hole facing the front of the car.

Adjustment is achieved by removal of the inner pin, screw rod end out (to increase negative camber) or in (to decrease negative camber). One full turn of the rod end adjusts camber by approximately _º. This must be set using the correct measuring instruments by a competent user. Alterations in camber will also alter castor angles. These must also be monitored during adjustment.

Adjustment is not linear, as camber/castor alterations also alter overall suspension geometry. Carefully inspect all suspension link and pivot points after adjustment to ensure no fouling or binding occurs – any interference will cause failure. This is fundamentally a racing part and not recommended for road use.

Importation rules regarding vehicles are very specific: Only those over 25 years in age may be brought in to the USA without compilance to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS).
