One hundred and fifty crews made up of 93 modern and 54 historic cars assembled in sunny conditions at 8.00 on Sunday 2nd June in Oostrozebeke, Belgium. The route comprised of 4 loops of 3 stages totalling 82km of closed public road special stages. Read more
Four Mini Coopers out of a total entry of 70 cars traveled to Belgium for the latest round of the Hero Championship. The latest outing for the MiniSpares team of Peter Horsburgh and Anthony Preston in the now rebuilt “277 BRX” was the highly competitive Poppy Rally organised by HERO/Classic Rally Association. The engine as well as a complete refresh at Southam has been fitted with a Comitech head gasket try to eliminate the blown gasket problems suffered over the last 2 years. Read more

A new adventure for MiniSpares Historic crew Peter Horsburgh with regular navigator Anthony Preston embarked on a foray into Belgian“Regularity“rallying last weekend in their Mini Cooper S (277 BRX).
We were accompanied by one other British crew Geoff Twigg and Graham Carter in their immaculate Alpine Renault A110S, against 66 local crews . Read more
Held in north Wales the rally attracted a full entry of 70 Historic cars competing over regularity sections and special timed to the second tests on Saturday 1st September. We had a brilliant morning and were lying 4th overall at lunch with only our test times preventing a higher placing the mini struggling to match the pace of the Porsches and Escorts . The afternoon was less good with 2 tricky to find controls catching us out and giving us a maximum penalty on 2 regularities . Read more
With a couple of weeks to go, as a new member of Kings Lynn and District MC, I decided to to enter as a club crew for our local HRCR Clubmans Championship round in Norfolk.
Out of the total of 34 crews there were 3 Mini Cooper S’s ,2 Austin 1275GT’s and 1 very smart Wolseley Hornet . The following is his report and I hope it will encourage more MCR members to bring out their cars on Historic rallies. Read more
