We made it, 35 years of trading and still going strong. Keith Dodd started selling Mini parts from a small garage in Bowes Road London in September 1975.

After only a few years in Bowes Road it became obvious that Mini Spares needed more room to grow and in the early 80’s Keith moved up to Friern Barnet Road. A Victorian shop that had 4 floors, that included the scariest basement, due the fact the last owner was a funeral home. 29-31 Friern Barnet Road N11 became the Aladdin’s cave of Mini parts that became International renowned and where I first started working for Mini Spares Centre Ltd in 1988. We often unloaded 20 foot containers in the morning and then loaded them up in the afternoon to be sent to Japan.

With the business expanding to all corners of the world and parts being stacked into every available space, another move was on the cards. We had a small warehouse for overflow stock in Potters Bar and when a unit became available next door we jumped at the chance to get the much needed space to keep everything under one roof. On 17th November 1999 we moved in , the vacant warehouse with 16,000 sq ft seemed vast and would easy be enough space. 5 years later we had outgrown this space and taken on further warehouses, now 35 years after Keith opened the doors we have 35,000 sq feet full of Mini Spares.

Over the 35 years we have seen the sale of Rover, the end of the production run and the introduction of a new MINI, however Mini Spares Centre Ltd have never moved away from the original plan of supplying the best quality parts from stock.

Hopefully the Mini scene will continue to grow and the classic mini will be around for another 35 years.
