A Good year for the Mad Dog Team for 2013

It was decided to compete in 2 national championships with both our twin cam Mini Clubman and our hybrid GT Metro Space frame. Our trusted stalwart the Mini Clubman achieved an incredible 8th overall and 2nd in class against some of the most high tech machinery in the country and achieving 2 lap records which had stood for some time. Despite battle damage on the way the teams focus on preparing and maintaining the mini both on race days and evenings burning the midnight oil, true dedication is a rare commodity in this day and age.

Our Cosworth Metro also had traumas on the way with a huge impact from another competitor (who had points put on his licence), the team rallied around once again and the Metro was repaired for the next race. Taking on cars with superior budgets we managed to finish the championship in a good overall position.

Both cars with Bill had a huge following during this year often the races were televised using some of Bills on board footage to an international audience.

Away from the racing scene Bills enthusiasm for the RNLI charity dominated most of his private time with adrenaline hot lap passenger rides at the Mini World action day, the BHP Show and the Mini Festival caught the eye of Bills friends at Barclays Bank who have agreed to match any amount of money Bill makes for the RNLI. Many thousands of pounds was raised in 2013.

During the Season Bill does product testing for Mini Spares. The fabulous Mini Spares 8 port engine track day car is used for the testing of these products, the end result of this rigorous testing programme filters down to the public where these products eventually go on sale, tried and tested.
