Fitting these brackets will add approximately 1.5 degrees of negative camber to whatever the current setting is, THEY DO NOT give 1.5 degrees of camber. The factory standard settings are quoted as 0.5-2.5 degrees.
After fitment it is imperitive to get the geometry checked, particularly the tracking, The standard brackets are fitted to the subframe before the radius arm pin holes are line bored to ensure correct toe in alignment and because of this, it is impossible to supply pre drilled brackets to give the correct tracking setting. Toe out is to be avoided as this makes the car very unstable, and potentially dangerous. These brackets are therefore manufactured to ensure the correct toe-in attitude is achieved on all subframes.
The correct standard setting is 1/8”(0.125”) 3.17mm toe in. To adjust the rear tracking shims can be fitted between the radius arm brackets and the subframe. (0.166”) 1.68mm thick shim each side will alter tracking by about 1/16” (0.625”) 1.59mm-1/32” each side.
Try to adjust both sides evenly to ensure stability.. Reducing the amount of toe in on the rear wheels reduces under steer, making the car turn quicker. However, toe out will give over steer and loss of stability, so is not recommended for road cars.
FITMENT
Jack car up and position securely on axle stands, then remove rear wheels for maximum access.
Undo and remove outer radius arm pin nuts.
Undo and remove the four radius retaining bracket bolts-two underneath the subframe, two inside the bracket above and below radius arm.
Replace standard bracket with relevant handed negative camber bracket .
Re fit the four bracket retaining bolts.
Re fit radius arm pin nut (torque setting 53lb ft/72Nm)
Get rear tracking geometry checked and adjust if necessary as described above.
