Heater hoses and expansion tank hoses are mostly 5/8" from 1985 on so check the bore size as some were actually 1/2" hose with flared ends of 5/8" you will need to use a restrictor pipe MOC210.

Genuine rubber plug from Rover to fit on the water pump or cylinder head by pass hose tubes when deleting the hose.For the cylinder head you can fit a blanking plug but the water pump would need changing to GWP187 which has no outlet
