New competition valve cotter for early heads with the large single groove valve, these are precision CNC machined from 4340 and heat treated to a better spec than EN24T and claimed to be stronger in fatigue life.

These locate better in the valves and make it easier to control spring heights.

Made to RACE specification for performance heads or valves by going one better in quality and fitment, do not take a risk--buy the best available on this part.

If you have not got original top caps 88G616 you can use 88G617 but the cotters will sit about 20 thou higher but fine for standard use.

Manufactured to fit all early top caps whether they were for twin valve springs as per Sprite and Cooper or single spring type.

2A11EVO and 88G459 have the same angles when fitted.

The circlip is 2A12 for holding the cotters but deemed as no longer required by Leyland when the Longbridge plant started using and introducing the later 88G459 cotter around 1971. The clip does however give a sence of security.
