This is the boot seal that actually fits on the car body which saved drilling holes in the bootlid. Fitted from about 1988 on.
These gaskets should be changed when replacing the hinges, this one goes between the bootlid hinge on the body, see 24A2175 also for upper on bootlid.

These two simple cables are all that keep the boot lid from crashing down, damaging hinges, bumper and paint. When one fails we recommend replacing both to be sure of the same length. sold singly 2 required per car
