Mighty Minis racing season 2016

The images below capture the essence of what this season has been about, and most obvious is the closely matched cars and drivers trying their utmost to do as best they could. This is what Minis racing is all about and long may it continue.

After what can only be considered as a most enjoyable season with great racing and lifelong friendships made and rediscovered, we now look forward to another exciting season with the BARC.

Zandvoort Double Podium

The Mini 7 Racing Club's season finale took us to Zandvoort for the second year running, although last year it was a non-championship round. Both championships had already been wrapped up - Ashley Davies topping the points table for the mini se7en challenge supported by Mini Spares, and Shayne Deegan for the mini miglia challenge supported by Mini Spares. Well done to both of you.

Castle Combe Race Report

With what seemed to be the blink of an eye, the Super Mighty Minis Championship found itself at the last 2 races of the season at Castle Combe. On the back of 2 podiums at Thruxton, Alex Comis in the Mini Spares car was still in the hunt with a mathematical chance of the championship.

The Super Mighty Minis Championship moved to pastures new for penultimate rounds 9 and 10 as the championship touched down at Thruxton. This Wiltshire circuit is unique in a number of ways. It’s fast, really fast, and boasts having the fastest corner in the UK.

We had a good result, having won the first half of the Rally Isle of Man, we then had a close fight with Peter Ellerby, on the second half. We were swapping stage times, and a big push on the final stage meant we won the second half of the Rally

Better late than never – a month has already passed since the annual Brands Hatch Mini Festival and yet somehow the sunshine is still shining as brightly in the UK.

Old Stager Championship Round 5 - Carfax Stages 6th August 2016

Nineteen Historic crews out of an entry of 70 made the trip to a very hot Throckmorton airfield, near Worcester for the 5th round of the championship, including 12 mini crews contesting the Mini Cup. Ten stages were to be completed during the day, with each covering 7 miles of long straights and some very tight corners.....

Mini Festival at Brands Hatch a success

In July, Brands Hatch in Kent played host to its annual “Brands Hatch Mini Festival”, where the famous racing circuit sees thousands of Mini enthusiasts come together to celebrate this exceptional vehicle.

Sponsored by Mini Spares, visitors to the festival were gifted an action-packed weekend which included a performance by stunt driver Terry Grant, live music, rally demonstrations.....

Super Mighty Mini Brands Hatch Report 2016

Comis in the number 41 Mini Spares car was up at the sharp end and by the end of the session, had secured 3rd on the grid, 2 tenths off pole. So close was the field, 1 second covered the top 10 cars.

“It’s always close here and 3rd is good, but there were a couple of areas I think I could have made up some time. The race should be good, I suspect it will be very close.”
