This latest type washer with internal seal is used on the oil feed pipe from the block to the filter. One either side of the pipe union. Found on engines from about 1985 on. Sold singly, 2 per car required.

Block to filter head gasket when spin on type filter is used (except billet types which use 88G402). The black side goes against the engine and the red against the filter. This also has a sealant strip on it to help stop leaks.
