Used on all MK1/2/3 bootlids there are 26 little holes drilled around the inner edge to hold the seal on and this kit contains the 26 clips. For single clips see 14A6585. Later cars 1988 on fitted a seal to the body only. (CKE10018)

This is the boot seal that actually fits on the car body which saved drilling holes in the bootlid. Fitted from about 1988 on.

These gaskets should be changed when replacing the hinges, this one goes between the bootlid hinge on the body, see 24A2175 also for upper on bootlid.
