Battery rod with open loop.
At 5.5cm long this is the open loop rod by the negative terminal which hooks into the battery box bracket. Also see YJJ100040 at 7.5cm lomg made ffor 1990 on cars with bigger battery.
Also see YJH100010. 8.5cm Long for later cars this is the looped battery fixing rod for pre 1990 cars. This rod fits on the back bracket by the positive earth terminal with a nut and bolt.
The battery cover made of a special cardboard as fitted to all minis to protect
the battery terminals from metal objects. See also the 14A7666 retaining strap.
Your battery box 5L877 should be held in place by this rubber strap.
