Until the Verto/injection type cars most minis had a small inspection hole for checking timing at the top of the clutch housing. These 1/4"unf bolts 1/2" long hold on that plate but you can use shorter type SH604031 also.

Just because you have a rod-change gearbox doesn't mean you're immune from gearlever vibration. The ball on the end of the lever wears and is not seperately replaceable; replacing the lever is the answer.
