Genuine Mini Spares product, as per the last original Rover rear alloy strut fitted on the assembly line to minis with 12" wheels from 1984, 12.13" (308mm) fitted length. For, Mini Van/Estate and Pickup,many saloons from 1990 and late 80's seem to all have used the longer struts 21A1684S which were 7mm longer (315mm)12.4" which were fitted on all MPI from 1997 with 13" wheels and are also ideal for Cooper S pre 1964 plus Mokes which were (317mm). 1960's std Cooper were (314.5mm)

Rover used this same part number and supplied it in different lengths (which is unusual) to suit cars weight/loading, but all the other different part numbers had a fitted length from a minimum of 307mm to 317mm, (with a ratio of 5 to 1) this 10mm giving quite a different height range. We have also found these fitted from 1974 onwards on some cars with front discs and all cars by 1984 with 12" wheels.

This part was modified by Rover as a replacement for the earlier 21A1683, but it was made stronger with a 1/2" wider base and 1/4"wider seating area for the cone spring to compress on, and only 1mm longer than the previous 21A1683 trumpet although from batch to batch they were sometimes up to .115thou(2.9mm)different. Should be fitted in pairs for correct ride height.

These are perfect for earlier models and if you require extra clearance 21A1845 as fitted by Rover or similar washers can be added.

Or GSV1264EVO front knuckle will give extra 4.3mm height over original standard cones but the ratio is 5-1 on the rear travel and the front is 3 to 1.

Some minis had spacer washers fitted to the front and occasionally the rear especialy on 12" wheels. If you had the suspension lowered by cutting the trumpets and you want to restore car to the standard ride height and original appearance, these alloy trumpets make it possible, but we also have the "RAC Homologated" HILO adjustable trumpets as a low cost effective alternative.
